RE: 2009-10 BAAL VIKASH PROGRAM
It is with great pleasure that we welcome your child(ren) to our Baal Vikash program for the new school year. The 2009-10 Baal Vikash class will look to meld the best of the old with the promise of the new. Our program continues with our focus on educating our children on the beauty, wonder and insight of our rich cultural and religious heritage. In addition to Hindi and Bhajans, we continue this year with Yoga which was successfully added last year. Our scripture of focus this year will be the Bhagavad Gita in a format designed for children. We have purchased 50 copies of the children’s Gita created by the Chinmaya Mission in India to use in bringing forth the teachings of Lord Krishna into terms the children will understand. We will be accepting donations to offset the $6.00 cost per book from those that are able to contribute.
Other new features this year include:
- Our class begins at 7pm promptly each Friday night.
- Parent Orientation to be held on 09/11/09 at 7pm for ½ hour to introduce all parents to the program we have planned for this new year
- Binders for each children that will be kept on site at the Temple for the children to use each week,
- A full semester schedule and lesson plans covered each week will be posted to the FHO website, fhosm.com, that will allow the children to study outside of class and you to keep track of what they are learning
We strongly encourage greater parent participation in both attendance in class and reviewing each week with their children what they have learned. We have attached a copy of this semester’s schedule for you to keep.
