The organization was founded in 1981 and ten years later our currect temple facilities were completed in 1991. Since then the Florida Hindu Organization Inc. Shiva Mandir has been the cornerstone for Sanatan Dharma within the South Florida community. With the passage of time the Shiva Mandir has transformed into not only a Mandir, but as a "center" where people of all ages can gather together to elevate their lives and thus strengthen the base, the pillars, or our rich culture and heritage. The Shiva Mandir now boasts the largest youth involvement in any other time in its young history, so much so that the inner working of the mandir relies heavily on their commitment and knowledge. Times are changing rapidly, and the time has now come for the Florida Hindu Organization Inc to take the next step forward and start building for our future generations. Our "Vision for Tomorrow" is an entirely new Shiva Mandir, a new kitchen facility, indoor dining / reception area, pooja / gift store etc. This will enable us to provide for the growing Hindu population in the area, with modern facilities and amenities to keep up with ever changing times. The future of the FHO Shiva Mandir lies in the hands of us all and we are asking for your dedicated commitment and monetary donations to make this "Vision for Tomorrow" a reality.
