OM Namaha Shivaya
OM Namaha Shivaya
OM Namaha Shivaya

I bow to you O Lord Shiva, guardian of the south-east and ruler of the universe, all pervading, manifested as the Vedas, unborn, beyond attributes, you who are universal consciousness, desire-less, surrounding  space itself. I bow to the supreme Lord who is formless, omnipresent, beyond words, understanding and the senses: the origin of the sound OM, beyond time itself, terrible yet gracious, the abode of all virtue

He whose body is as pure as the snow clad mountain, whose head sparkles with the holy Ganga.  Whose forehead is adorned with the moon and neck with serpents, I adore Him. He whose eyes are large and beautiful, who has a blue-throat, who has a lion’s skin around his waist and a garland of skulls, I adore Him who is the universal Lord and loved by all. I surrender to the supreme lord of Parvatee, terrible in the face of evil, indivisible, unborn, brilliant as innumerable suns, who destroys three types of agony, who holds a trishul in His hands. Immeasurable, auspicious, destroyer of creation at the end of each cycle, source of bliss to the virtuous, personification of consciousness and bliss, dispeller of delusion, be gracious O Lord. So long as men do not worship the lotus feet of the Lord of Uma, there is no happiness, nor peace nor the end of sorrow, therefore be gracious O Lord Shiva who dwells in the heart of all beings. I do not know yoga, jaap nor puja, I simply bow to you at all time and at every moment, please protect me O Lord Shiva. This hymn of eight verses was uttered by the Brahman in worship of Lord Shiva.  Lord Shambhu is pleased with those who devoutly recite it.
